Question: When coming off the highway with foot on the brake at low Rpm's the engine stalls. No hissing sounds from brake booster. This will happen while costing to a stop and applying the brakes too. The RPM's seem to want to adjust but will fluctuate then car stalls.
Answer: Sounds like the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) is staying engaged. Similar to not pressing the clutch in on a manual transmission car. You can check this by unplugging the electrical connector on the transmission. Look down at the trans from in front of the car, and you will see a connector going into the transmission. Unplug it and go for a drive. This may set a check engine light temporarily. If it does not stall any more, you need to replace the TCC solenoid and 3rd gear pressure switch in the trans.
