Chevy Trailblazer LS. Question: Hi and Ty. 2 of the 3 brake lights are not working the 3dr rear door one is works. I've replaced the fuses (#12 under the hood) and the fuse under the rear seat.
Replaced all bulbs and replaced the switch on the break pedal. Am I missing a a fuse or a relay that could cause this?
Answer: If the center high mounted stop lamp is working then we know the brake light switch and the wiring to the rear fuse box and to that lamp are fine. You need to test for power at the fuse labeled "VEH STOP" in the rear fuse block when the brake pedal is pressed. That fuse should be hot. Next use a test light to test for power at the light blue wire terminal at the taillight circuit board connectors for the left and right side.
If you do have power on each of those light blue wires, then I would suspect that both rear taillight circuit boards are bad. They don't usually fail at the same exact time, but one may have gone out a few days or a week before the other before you noticed that they were both out. If you DO NOT have power on those wires then you would need to remove the rear fuse block and check for power actually coming out of the fuse box after the fuse.
We have seen some fuse box problems on this and other cars and trucks. You would need a schematic to check the wires. On the backside of the fuse block one light blue wire goes to the left side and another light blue goes to the right side. One is from terminal B2 the other is from terminal C2 in the C2 bulk connector. The C2 connector is the one that is not black or gray.
Interior Lights Stay On
2002 Chevy Trailblazer ltz. Engine Size : 6 cyl. Question : 2002 Chevy Trailblazer problem with the interior lights staying on after the vehicle is turned off, radio shuts off immediately after turning off the ignition, and the remote keyless entry won't work .
Answer: Have seen this a lot on the Trailblazers. You may have a problem with what's called the 'Liftgate Module'. This module is located in the rear lift gate behind the trim panel. Usually it's the module that goes bad, but I've seen times where there are broken wires going to the lift gate through the rubber boot, so check that as well. If you need to replace the module, you're going to have to take it to a GM dealership. The module will need to be programmed to your vehicle, and then your remotes will need to be reprogrammed as well. A Tech2 scanner can tell you if you've lost communication with the module, or if there are any trouble codes within it, that might help to diagnose the problem.
