2004 gmc Envoy oil pressure low light
The stabilitrak and ABS lights have come on, the oil interval display also went on . Changed the oil and the lights when off, is this normal, and is there any risks?
Re: Stabilitrac and ABS lights coming on
Seen this on many GM products, and it's the way for dealer to get you back in to make money, change the oil and watch lights go off.
Re: Stabilitrac and ABS lights coming on
Eddy is right, that is why no one can find codes, there aren't any, it is something GM did to get you in when you don't change your oil, it's preset in the computer. Mind you if the problem persists after service see a technician

Re: Stabilitrac and ABS lights coming on
There is no set interval in the computer for the ABS or stablilitrak light. Then those lights come on, there is a problem in the system. Both of those are probably related to the ABS since that effects the stabilitrak system. Even though the lights went out, there are code stored, so t=he computer needs to be scanned.Albert wrote:The stabilitrak and ABS lights have come on, the oil interval display also went on . The change oil light will of course have a preset interval of about 3,000 miles, but that depends on a lot of things like driving habbits, etc.
2004 gmc Envoy oil pressure low light
the gages light comes on and oil pressure drops right now, it only happens at idle speed as soon as rpm is increased the gage light goes out and oil pressure goes back up as soon as i let it idle the same thing happens again, its strange because it only happens once and a while it happened once a year ago and now again this year, the engine seems to bog down when it happens as soon as rpm is increased its normal again, any help would be appreciated!

Re: 2004 gmc Envoy oil pressure low light
Most likely they problem is the oil pressure sensor, and not actual low oil pressure in the engine. Aside from getting the oil pressure checked with a professional gauge, i would just go ahead and replace the oil sender. They are cheap- maybe $25. Then see how it acts.
GMC Jimmy dies while driving
I have a 2001 gmc Jimmy and while driving it at about 40 mph it died. We were not able to get it restarted. We replaced the ignition about 2 years ago and replaced the fuel pump about 1 year ago. Any ideas what could be wrong?
Re: GMC Jimmy dies while driving
In order to diagnose this problem, you are going to have to find out what is missing. Does the engine have spark, fuel pressure and injector signal?
To check fuel pressure you will need a gauge to install on the pressure port under the hood on the drivers side back of the engine. Or at least push in the pin to see if there is pressure there.
To check for spark you will need to at least remove a plug wire and install a screwdriver in it and place it close to a metal surface and look for the spark. Or remove a plug wire from the distributor and look for spark.
To check for fuel injector signal you would need a special test light for that.
