car wont reverse

Last night while driving through a snow storm we got partially stuck, but were able to get out and safely home, however, now when shifting into reverse and pressing gas, the tires will just spin forward for a few seconds, and then stop, however engine is will still rev, just not move. The car drives fine while going forward. Reverse lights come on, no check engine light, transmission fluid seems to be clean. 2004 Toyota Solara V6 200,000 miles. Thank you!

If the tires are spinning forward in reverse gear and then stopping, you have an internal transmission problem. Something has broken inside. You are going to need to have it taken out, disassembled and repaired.

You may have a shift solenoid that is faulty. Have the computer scanned for codes. If there is a code for a shift solenoid, have it replaced. There are a few, so a code will tell which one is having a problem on your Silverado.

is the bolt pattern for the tranny the same on a v6 auto and a 4 cyl manual?
i want to put a v6 in my 4 banger

Yes, the bolt pattern should be the same.

I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 Z71 5.3l transmission is not shifting....just slipping. What can be wrong?????

If the transmission is at shifting at all, then you have an internal problem. Sounds like it is time for an overhaul.

You need to bring your car in the shop and have it repair before it gets worst than that.
