Question: Wondering if this is what new brakes are supposed to sound like. Brand new 2013 Hyundai Elentra and the brakes have been making these noise since 3,000 miles.
After 4 repair the shop foreman said this is normal sounding. Mainly makes the noise when it has rained. I previously owned a 2001 Hyundai Elentra that never once sounded like this. Thanks for any help as I'm fighting this. Sorry I could not upload video. So I posted a YouTube brake noise video link below:
Answer: The video was very hard to tell what the brake noise is you are talking about. But, a new car or new brakes should not have any noises in the brakes at all. I don't know why the Hyundai dealer told you it was normal. If it were a normal noise, they would not have tried to fix it several times. You need to take it to another dealer or call the Hyundai customer assistance.
Noisy brakes when it it rains or is wet outside is usually caused by slight rust buildup on the rotors or drums. This can usually be repaired by resurfacing them or sanding them down a bit.
