Question: How do you install a Lower control arm with a possible ball-joint assembly, on the drivers side? Any special tools needed?
Answer: No special tools. Fairly straight forward. Jack up car to remove wheel and USE A JACK STAND to support it. Remove the ball joint stud bolt and nut. Remove the bolt, nut and washers from the control arm mounting at the frame, and the bolts that hold on the control arm bushing clamp. Use a pry bar and hammer to release the ball joint stud from the knuckle, then slide the lower control arm out. Front end alignment should also be done after this repair.
