2001 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab Engine size = 5.3 Vortec. Replaced TPS ( throttle position sensor). I have no codes, i have replaced the TPS, changed oil, fuel filter. In neutral truck run great
, when i am stopped at a traffic light it starts to sputter, or when i get on the highway and step on the foot feed it will act like it wants to stall. transmission seems to be fine, no hard popping or obvious slipping.
Answer: Well, this could be several things. Fuel pressure may be low caused by a weak fuel pump. Could also just be engine misfire. Spark plug wires or ignition coils would be suspect. Fuel pressure regulator may be leaking and loading up the engine. Have also had a few ground wires problems on the back of the passenger side cylinder head. This would explain why only happens in gear, or when accelerating. When in neutral, the engine is not is not slaved, so not pulling on any harnesses.
Chevy Silverado Vortec Won't Shift
Question = no reverse, and don't shift gears in drive but 6 months i had the shift solenoids done what should I do.
Answer: You definitely have an internal transmission failure. The shift solenoids are probably still OK, but something broke inside the transmission. Most likely a planetary gear or housing, or possibly the band or sun shell is causing the problem. The transmission is going to need to be removed and disassembled to find out exactly what the cause is, and will probably need a complete rebuild if debris has been transferred throughout the entire case.
Chevrolet Silverado Wont Accelerate
I'm driving a 1996 Chevy Silverado with 260,000 miles on it. It used to drive fine after starting. But last week while driving on the highway I noticed that when I put my foot on the gas to accelerate the truck with rev in the RPMs will go up but It wouldn't accelerate until I took my foot off the gas and pressed it again. In the RPMs will go up but I wouldn't accelerate until I took my foot off the gas and pressed it again. That same day when I was leaving work when I put the truck in reverse and press the gas RPMs go up with the truck wouldn't move.
Answer: What you are describing is a transmission problem. That is why the engine RPM;s go up but the truck will not accelerate. You should first check the transmission fluid level and condition. If this is all OK, then you are going to have to have a mechanic drive it and diagnose the transmission. It may have to come out and be repaired or replaced.
